PrestaTrust : The new traceability system based on blockchain –

After the recent release of its 1.7.3 version, PrestaShop launches today PrestaTrust, a traceability system based on blockchain innovation.

PrestaTrust is the first trust infrastructure dedicated to the open source economy, bringing transparency to the ecosystem. PrestaTrust is our solution to make the community feel confident about its work and the other’s, by adding an extra layer of trust upon modules.

We use the blockchain technology to guarantee secure and irrefutable authentication of the open source code. On PrestaShop Addons Marketplace, a PrestaTrust badge indicates which modules have been authenticated by a smart contract. The code authenticity is ensured by a code check: when the module is installed on the store, a digital signature of this module is calculated and compared to the original one. The intention is to make sure no code change happened between purchase and installation.
